Stranger Fruit: The Weight of Absence, A Thought-Provoking Exploration
Stranger Fruit will be on display from June 8 to July 31 edited and curated in Deirdre McIntosh’s approach. Henry’s contemporary photography series confronts the issue of police brutality against African-American men and sheds light on the trauma inflicted on their families. His unique and powerful reimagination of the Pietà , a classic artistic motif, exposes the intimate grief and pain of mothers and families affected by this systemic injustice. In McIntosh’s ‘Stranger Fruit: The Weight of Absence’, she plays with the imagery of motherhood, family, and home.
