Introducing Weeks of Vengeance: March Edition!
As March unfolds, Youthful Vengeance is thrilled to present a fresh lineup of artists for our Weeks of Vengeance series. Each week, we’ll be showcasing artwork by emerging artists who are helping shape the future of contemporary art in Toronto.
Kicking off the month from March 2nd to March 8th, we have Cissy Shi. Cissy’s paintings explore the intricacies of dreams, memory, and mental health through her experimental use of colour and texture. Viewers are invited into a playful realm of imagination and nostalgia through Cissy’s surreal creations.
Following Cissy, we have Lily Kapler & Hayeon Song from March 9th to March 15th. Lily’s work analyses her own visual memory as it relates to her personal identity, while Hayeon’s work utilises line and space as a visual method for dissecting opposing relationships. Both artist’s work invites questions of how we perceive an ambiguous reality.
From March 16th to March 22nd, we welcome 7 Magazine for a retrospective look at SEVEN Volume 1. SEVEN highlights unique and diverse voices while emphasising our inherent desire to connect with one another and share our passions. Join us for a night of celebration as we look back on the milestones and memories that emerged from the making of Volume 1.
Next up, from March 23rd to March 29th, we’ll be featuring the dynamic works of Shannon Sandwell. Shannon’s expressive brushstrokes skillfully bring the figure to life. Their collage-style approach to composition aims to foster connection and community, while simultaneously conveying the pains of disconnection.
Finally, closing out the month from March 30th to April 5th, we have the work of Daniel Huszar. Daniel’s film photographs capture the emotional depth of his subjects and will leave the viewer filled with awe.
